Jan 25, 2010

Nothing gets under my skin quite like the words "There's nothing to do in Phoenix." Whether you just arrived in town yesterday or you've lived here your whole life, I'm here to tell you that's simply not true. I find it very hard to believe that in a city this large and with this many people that there is truly "nothing" to do. As a matter of fact, there is so much going on that I put together this list of 101 Things to Do in Phoenix. Check it out:

Record rainfall during the past several days has turned many dry washes around Phoenix into raging streams of mud, silt, and water! Check out these photos of New River Wash taken on Saturday afternoon near 83rd Avenue and Union Hills Road.

Exotic Car Spotting in Phoenix

Jan 16, 2010

If you think that the only places to catch a glimpse of exotic cars are exotic cities like Las Vegas, Miami, and Dubai, think again! It may surprise you to hear this, but the truth is that Phoenix is actually a great place to see exotic and rare cars on the streets. Here are a few gems I have spotted while driving around during the past year or so:

Ferrari F430 in Scottsdale, ArizonaHere is a Ferrari F430 that I spotted on the Loop 101 freeway.
This car has a top speed of 196 miles per hour!

Maserati Quattroporte spotted in PhoenixThis Maserati Quattroporte was seen cruising down Camelback Road in Phoenix.
The average price of these high-performance luxury sedans is $110,000 to $140,000.

Juniper Branch Library At A Glance

Jan 5, 2010

Juniper Library Sign in North Phoenix, AZBefore the Agave Library opened its doors last summer, the Juniper Branch Library was the only place in North Phoenix where bookworms could go to get their literary fix. Juniper is one of 16 branches of the Phoenix Public Library system, all of which are named after native desert plants. What you may not know is that there is much more to the Juniper library than just books!

As a young child, my mother used to take me to the Juniper Branch Library at 19th Avenue and Union Hills Road. Back then the library was a small suite in the northeast corner of the Safeway Plaza where Tutor Time is now located. Then in July of 1996, the Juniper library moved into a brand new building across the street. The new library was fantastic!
