Presidential Dining in Phoenix

Apr 27, 2014

There is an unwritten rule among United States Presidents that whenever they visit Phoenix, they always make time to grab some local Mexican food.

It's no secret that Phoenix is full of great Mexican restaurants. Let's take a look at where some of the recent Presidents have eaten in Phoenix:

Bill Clinton
Poncho's Mexican Food
7202 S. Central Ave

Phoenix, AZ 85042

President Bill Clinton ate here while in office on July 7, 1999. The restaurant has commemorated this event by painting a mural of the President on the wall.

George W. Bush Jr.
Tee Pee
4144 E Indian School Rd.

Phoenix, AZ 85018

President George W. Bush ate at the Tee Pee Mexican Food restaurant on January 21, 2004. According to the restaurant, he had 2 cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans.

Barack Obama

Macayo's
4001 N Central Ave

Phoenix, AZ 85012

President Barack Obama and his family dropped by the Macayo's restaurant on Central Avenue for dinner on August 15, 2009. According to the Arizona Republic, the President had the beef, chicken, and shrimp platter.

While I researched this topic quite a bit, I could only find details on these three Presidents dining in Phoenix. Do you remember another Presidential dining spot in Phoenix? Please post a comment and tell us about it!
