Tesla Motors Adds Supercharger Locations in Arizona

It wasn't very long ago that the idea of owning a pure electric car was a crazy dream. There were no mass-market manufacturers of electric vehicles and no infrastructure in place to support them. In just 11 years, Tesla Motors has changed all that.

The upstart company from California has become one of the biggest success stories not only in the automotive world, but in the business world. Backed by PayPal co-founder and billionaire Elon Musk, Tesla Motors has overcome many hurdles previously thought to be impossible.

The company has successfully designed a practical, affordable, pure electric vehicle. Rather than outsource it, they decided to build it right here in America. And finally, the Model S throws down performance figures and 0-60 times that outperform even the top gasoline vehicles of today!

There are a lot of perks to having a pure electric vehicle including 100% torque, low maintenance, fewer moving parts, and a supremely quiet ride. The one drawback to owning a Tesla was the limited range, but that problem is quickly disappearing as well.

If you are intrigued by the idea of never having to buy gasoline again, you are not alone! The vehicles can be recharged from a home or public charger, but Tesla Motors has taken it a step further with their nationwide network of "Supercharger" stations.

A Supercharger has the ability to recharge the car's battery pack by 50% in as little as 20 minutes. Unlike the Blink and other chargers, the Tesla Supercharger is available to customers completely free of charge! Wow!

So how many of these Supercharger stations are in Arizona? As of December 2014, there are ten of them across the Grand Canyon State. Each Supercharger station is strategically located along a major Interstate route for convenience. Many of them are located in the parking lots of restaurants such as Carl's Jr., Burger King, and Culver's.

Electric cars and fast-charging stations are not some pie-in-the-sky "future of motoring" technology that will never happen. For a growing number of Arizonans, this is a reality that they experience every day, right now.
