Regular readers of this blog may know that I have been keeping an eye on a very large office building under construction in North Phoenix for the past 2 years. Now, the new Phoenix FBI Headquarters is close to completion!
The massive building is close to completion with the windows, signage, flags, and security fence installed. I drive by this location frequently, and decided to take a photo for this post. I pulled over and hopped out of the car to snap a quick photo.
While I had been stopped by the side of the road for less than two minutes, I was quite surprised to see a Phoenix Police officer had pulled up behind me. He was standing next to his vehicle with a blank expression on his face. "What's going on here" he said flatly.
I said a friendly hello and gave him my name. I explained that I am a writer for North Phoenix Blog, a website with news and information about the Deer Valley area of Phoenix. He asked to see my ID and I complied. He also asked for the name of my blog and I watched him write it down.
After a long pause, the officer said that there have been several incidents of vandalism to the building during its construction. He said they have to investigate everything "just in case." With that, he headed back to his car and gave me a wave.
This wasn't the first time I have been questioned about taking photos, and it probably won't be the last. So please enjoy these photos of the new FBI office that I have posted here, because I would not recommend checking it out for yourself!
The windows are designed to look like a DNA chart. Arial view of the landscape looks like a fingerprint.
