Hi I am in London Uk and doing some family history for a friend who lived in Phoenix as a boy. He lived at what he recalls was the Blue Bonnet Trailer court and I have tried to trace this. In the 40s there was a trailer/motor court by that name at 811 s 19th Ave but by the late 50s early 60s its described as a Blue Bonnet Apartments and also Blue Bonnet motel. I think its on the site that today is Terrell's car park. Thing is he doesn't recognise the area when we look at it on google earth. I was hoping someone may remember the Blue Bonnet or anything about it. The lady who run it in the late 60s was an English lady called Ruby Benson but she is only listed as living at Bensons Lodge in the 1940's. She came back to England for a little while in the 1950s before heading back to Sun Valley. When it was listed in the phone book others are registered as being in Charge but I think when Ruby Benson was the manager it was in decline and wasn't advertised. If anyone has any memories of this I would very much appreciate receiving any comments. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI am a 5th generation Phoenician. I remember my dad buying Chuck Taylor Converse shoes for me when I was a kid at the Yellow Front store on Indian School Road. They were only $8.99.
