For years, the City of Phoenix has held an Independence Day celebration at Deer Valley Park on the week before Independence Day. This annual event is held for residents of Phoenix looking to celebrate the 4th of July without the hassle of going to a major event such as Fabulous Phoenix 4th. It is a low-key way to enjoy the fireworks from a large neighborhood park in the Northwest Valley.
"After Dark in the Park" returns on Saturday, June 24, 2023!
This family-friendly and free will include live music, inflatables, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display starting at 8:45 pm.

Where: Deer Valley Park, 19602 North 19th Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85027
When: Saturday, June 22, 2019
Time: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm (Fireworks at 8:45pm)

This event is NOT on Friday 6/26. It IS on Saturday 6/27/2015.
I am hearing conflicting dates about this event . We called the community center and they said it was on Saturday 6/27/15
Thank you for the updates! I have corrected the dates which are now shown on the City of Phoenix's Parks website.
Very frustrating. Checked the date a couple weeks ago to make plans and it was Friday. Now it is Saturday. Really hope we can still make it.
Thats crap i planned for people to come over to watch the fireworks based on this sites information. I check today and the date changed thanks for keeping ontop of that and ruining my night.
Again, sorry for the mix-up regarding the 2015 dates. The City of Phoenix Parks website (phoenix.gov/parks) definitely said Friday the 26th when I was researching this post, and their website changed the date *after* my article went live. Check the Google Cache from June 20th if you don't believe me. I have amended the article with the correct date.
He is correct - my inlaws had printed the City of Phoenix parks page with the incorrect date a while back and stuck it by their calendar. This is how my wife and kids mistakenly ended up at the park tonight with my inlaws only to find no fireworks. There weren't the only ones who showed up on the wrong date! Take it up with City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation - I will be :)
Wow if that ruins your night then you must have a terrible life. Most people could have figured this out from past years. Its always been the weekend before idiot.
Who pays for thee fireworks ,Not the tax payes of Arizona ??????????????????
What happened to a week before the 4th. Why was it a week early?
